ARTISTIC DIRECTION, AI

The goal of this project was to create a concept and an artistic direction for the OFFF design festival. The challenge was to design a logo and an entire visual universe that would justify this change in the festival’s visual identity. The concept had to be strong, innovative, and representative of OFFF’s core values. The technical execution was not the main focus. Our task was to develop the artistic direction, concept, and identity.
To create a strong artistic direction and identity, I started from a simple observation about OFFF: while the festival sells out every year, engagement on social media remains quite low. I decided that the community and the artists themselves would shape OFFF’s identity each year and for each city through a social media contest featuring a community voting system. Participants could propose either surreal or realistic 3D worlds. The goal was to build a universe where OFFF comes to life for every edition. The selected 3D world would then become the festival’s visual identity and could be adapted across various media (print, web, and the festival’s website).

The base logo was designed to be easily translated into 3D models, with a simple, distinctive shape. The idea was to let participants express their own style and creative universe. This contest system keeps the community engaged on social media year-round, while also staying true to OFFF’s core values : sharing, inspiration, collaboration, and innovation in design.
This project also gave me the opportunity to experiment with AI tools to create visuals and present my concept for the call for proposals using representative and conceptual images. I worked with ChatGPT, Nano Banana, and Photoshop to bring the project to life.
